This passed weekend the Kamehameha Schools Maui Vex IQ Robotics team, Architechs, competed in the Maui Invitational Vex Robotics League at Lihikai Elementary school. The team placed 5th and 6th overall. They will also be competing this coming Saturday at Lahaina Intermediate school at 9am. Hoʻomaikaʻi to our team and the coaches!

Below is a letter from the coaches.

"Aloha Kamehameha Schools Maui community. We are your Vex IQ robotics coaches and would like to update you on the progress of your robotics team. Saturday, November 3rd was our first tournament and we are very proud of the students dedication to the team through hard work and determination in designing and building two robots for the competition in a short amount of time. We also have a STEM research project which involves the students presenting a current social issue which can be solved using mathematics. The team is currently working on the video for submission and we are excited to share the finish project.

Our two robots placed 5th and 6th at the 11/3/18 tournament which is a huge accomplishment considering this is our first tournament. Engineering is a process which sees more challenges than successes and by the end of the day our students were analyzing what improvements to make for next week. As coaches, seeing the students engage in the engineering process is the biggest win and what is most important to the students future success."
