Papa ‘Eono welcomed kūpuna, for the third year in a row, in celebration of Lā Ho’omaika’i. This year Papa Makaloa honored 85 kūpuna. Mo’opuna and haumāna hānai talked story and ate lunch together with kūpuna at Keʻeaumokupāpaʻiaheahe and then enjoyed pilina in Keōpuōlani Hale. Kūpuna were serenaded by KS Mauiʻs Ed Juan (c/o 2015) followed by kahiko performances by Kumu Piliʻs Hula Class, and the grand finale of mele ranging from Christian Ed songs to He ʻInoa No Pauahi from the young men and women of the Class of 2024. What a special day it was, and we mahalo our kūpuna!
