On Friday, Feb 2nd, Kamehameha School Maui hosted the Maui Makahiki Championship Tournament. Haumāna from Hana, Maui Prep, Maui Waena, and KS Maui all sent their best teams to compete in a variety of games including; Kōnane (Hawaiian checkers), ‘Ulu maika (stone bowling), Moa paheʻe (dart throwing), Kūkini (foot racing), Hākā moa (one-legged chicken fighting), Uma (arm wrestling), and Hukihuki (tug of war). Haumāna participated in 2 rounds of games to determine the overall champions the Maui Waena 8th grade boys. Ho'omaika'i to all haumāna who participated in this year’s event!
