6th grade haumāna are participating in a unit entitled “Body By ʻĀina.” In this unit, haumāna are navigating the land around the campus and learning various moʻolelo associated with places, street names, and building names. Haumāna are looking at their current modern day lifestyle and the lifestyles of their kūpuna guided by these essential questions: How can you find enjoyment in being physically active in your life? How did Hawaiians keep healthy back in the wā Kahiko? How can I encourage my lāhui to be, stay, live healthy? What was the daily hana of wā Kahiko? What is the daily hana of modern Hawaiians?
