March 19, 2018

Ho`omaika`i to the MS Ka ʻIkena Productions video team for bringing home two awards from the 15th Annual STN Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee. 7th graders Haley & Jolie placed 2nd in the Silent Film competition and our 8th graders, Aimi, Amaya, Jayden & Mackenzie, received Honorable Mention in the Music Video category.  Entries for these contests must be shot, edited and produced entirely by the students within several hours.  Students are given the assignments on the day of the competition and  have no idea what subject matter or music they will be required to use.  Over 3,000 students attended the convention from all over the world to compete in multiple on-site competitions, attend panels with industry professionals, and collaborate with teachers and students.
