KS names Nguyen senior director and chief technology officer of Financial Assets

Thuyen Nguyen has been named senior director and chief technology officer (CTO) of Kamehameha Schools’ Financial Assets Division.

Nguyen will serve as a senior technologist responsible for managing the diversified portion of KS’ financial investment portfolio. He will lead the development and execution of information technology initiatives and innovations that align with industry standards.

“Thuyen has a successful track record in building investment software products and is a recognized leader in investment data management,” said KS Chief Investment Officer Timothy Donahue. “Our team is looking forward to working with Thuyen. We welcome him and his family to the KS ʻohana.”

Nguyen has 20-plus years of experience in building and implementing accounting systems that support portfolio management, risk analytics, compliance and investments. In the last five years, he has focused on predictive analytics and used machine learning for investment decisions. Nguyen was also an architect and builder for several industry-leading investment software companies including Markit, EDM, and Confluence NXT.

Most recently, Nguyen served as a management consultant for a large mutual fund company in San Francisco. While employed there he also served as interim CTO for the equity technology group.

Thuyen has an Master of Business Administration in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in computer science from Columbia University.
