Student donated their spare change for "Penny Wars" which raised $1,016.55 in 4 days which will be donated to Maui Veteranʻs Center to help pay for their holiday meal celebration. Penny Wars rules are each grade has a separate change jug. Coins dropped in a jar add points to the gradeʻs total, but dollar bills dropped in the jar deduct points from the gradeʻs total. Other grades can deduct points from another grade with dollar bills in an attempt to make their own score higher to win. After much back and forth, 6th grade won even after being deducted over 300 points by other grades. Hoʻomaikaʻi to all of the grades and especially 6th for pulling through both deduction created by their older peers! Itʻs all for a great cause and was fun for all involved.
