• Kamehameha Schools plans revitalization of land in Lahaina (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)
  Kamehameha Schools intends to improve stewardship of its Lahaina lands, which includes initiatives such as preserving the rainforest, supporting farming and establishing commercial and community centers.
   
• Retired federal judge Alan Cooke Kay made historic Hawaii rulings (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)
  Retired U.S. District Court Judge Alan Cooke Kay, the jurist who handed down historic rulings protecting Kameha­meha Schools’ admissions policy and journalism in Hawaii, died on July 31. He was 92.
   
• Kamehameha Schools Kapālama students shine in production honoring Lahaina and Maui (Maui Now)
  There were several hundred audience members filled the auditorium, among them Mayor Richard Bissen, Maui County council members and Lahaina Strong organizers.

• KS Maui haumāna volunteer at Upcountry Aloha Luncheon (Maui Now)
  KS Maui student-athletes served lunch at the event marking one year since that fateful day.
   
• Native Hawaiian students visit oldest and largest ʻōhiʻa lehua tree on Maui for first time in generations (Maui Now)
  Six high school students and two teachers were guided on a three-mile hike through The Nature Conservancy’s Waikamoi Preserve near Haleakalā National Park.
   
• Kamehameha Schools Maui Hawaiian Ensemble featured on new record (Maui News)
  Kalani Pe’a’s new album Kuini pays tribute to some influential Hawaiian women.
   
• GCU students' lessons in cyber span from Phoenix to Hawaii (GCU News)
  KS haumāna learn about cybersecurity from Grand Canyon University’s Girls in Cyber team.

• Kamehameha Schools on proposed development plan for Keauhou Bay on Big Island (Hawaiʻi Public Radio)
  KS Planning and Development Director Marissa Harman about a new management plan for nearly 30 acres in the area.
   
• Two ESPM-led projects receive seed grant funding from the Berkeley Food Institute (UC Berkeley)
  KS is working with two professors from UC Berkeley’s Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management to connect molecular ecology and agroecology tounderstand the connections between arthropod biodiversity and agricultural diversification.

KAIĀULU

• INPEACE celebrates 30 years of supporting Native Hawaiian communities (Hawaiʻi Public Radio)
  Since 1994, INPEACE has been dedicated to creating pathways for teachers along the Waiʻanae Coast, increasing community-based childcare and collaborating with local people toward financial well-being.
   
• KS Kaiāulu partner is working for Hāna (Ka Wai Ola)
  Līpoa Kahaleuahi has served as the executive director of Ma Ka Hana Ka ʻIke, a community nonprofit that provides work-based learning opportunities to youth in East Maui.
   
• Hawaiian treatments help heal Maui fire survivors (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)
  With the support of KS Kaiāulu, Hawaiian healing practitioners offer lomilomi and hoʻoponopono to help Maui wildfire survivors.

ALUMNI

• KS alumna moves to NYC to expand her musical horizons (MidWeek)
  Keilana Mokulehua KSK’12, who recently moved to New York City to advance her music career, continues to blend her Hawaiian roots with new cultural influences while inspiring and educating her audience.

  Kamu Grugier-Hill KSK’12 is eager to begin a new chapter in Minnesota.
   
• Kehau Puʻu KSK'90 named OHA COO (Ka Wai Ola)
  The alum will provide leadership and direct oversight of OHA’s Advocacy, Communications, Community Engagement, Land Assets and Research & Evaluation divisions.
   
• First Hawaiian Bank announces six promotions (Maui Now)
  George E. Lee KSK’99 has been promoted to vice president, lead engineer and team manager of First Hawaiian Bank’s API and Integrations division.
   
• Living Treasure of Hawaiʻi, ceramicist Enomoto of Maui dies at 78 (Maui Now)
  Edmund M.K. Enomoto KSK’64 was named a Living Treasure of Hawaiʻi by the Honda Hongwanji Mission of Hawaiʻi as a ceramicist back in 1987 at the age of 41, one of the youngest ever to receive that accolade.
   
• Maui County Federal Credit Union awards $10k in scholarships to 10 students (KITV)
  Two recent KS graduates received the awards to support their higher education.

ATHLETICS

• Kamehameha’s Goldstein was born with wisdom, humility, composure (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)
  Senior volleyball player Kamana‘o Goldstein embodies wisdom, humility, and composure, traits evident since her extraordinary birth.
   
• Kamehameha opens season with new scoreboard and a win (Honolulu Star-Advertiser)
  Kamehameha defeated Leilehua 10-3 at Kunuiakea Stadium.
   
• Maui came just shy of a Little League World Series title in 2019. Now the island has another shot (Maui Now)
  As part of the Central East Maui Little League All-Stars, four KS Maui students will compete in the Little League World Series this year.
   
• KS Kapālama student named best player in national list (Max Preps)
  Volleyball player Ashli Lum helped the Warriors to a 30-3 mark, Division I state title and No. 18 finish in the final MaxPreps Top 25 last season.
