The Kamehameha Band Festival is our showcase of bands from throughout East Hawaiʻi.

Kamehameha Band Festival 2024

Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi is excited to once again host our annual Kamehameha Band Festival, celebrating the musical talents of students throughout East Hawaiʻi. The event takes place on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the William Charles Lunalilo Center. 

The Parade of Bands will start at 5:00 p.m. with each school having 20 minutes for their performance.

Scheduled performances are:

  • Hilo Intermediate School 
    Principal: Travis Toriano

    Repertoire:

  • Keaʻau High School

  • Waiākea Intermediate School

  • Waiakea High School

  • Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Beginning and Intermediate Kula Waena band

  • Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Beginning High School band

  • Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Symphonic band

    Repertoire: 
    Fu-mon by Hiroshi Hoshina
    El Camino Real by Alfred Reed
     

This year's performances are adjudicated by retired educator Dr. Terry Austin from Virginia Commonwealth University and Dr. Chad Kamei from Pearl City High School and the University of Hawaiʻi West Oʻahu.

The Parade of Bands will be livestreamed for friends and ʻohana at home on the Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel.
