Kamehameha Schools was founded by the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great.
Each June, the King Kamehameha Statue fronting Aliʻiōlani Hale is adorned with dozens of lei, which always includes one created by KS staff.
