Kō'ie'ie Fish Pond

Sept. 19, 2016

Contributed by Thomas Jones

On Sept. 15th & 16th, our 7th grade students and their parents joined the staff at Kō‘ie‘ie Fish Pond for a day of learning and fun.  Students and parents took part in cultural presentations by various speakers, got to hoe wa‘a (paddle a canoe) and helped to restore the fish pond wall.  This service learning project is an annual event for the 7th grade class.  Mahalo nui to the staff and volunteers from ‘Ao‘ao O Nā Loko I‘a o Maui for their continued support of this wonderful learning experience.
