Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha is closely monitoring Hurricane Lowell and Hurricane Karina as they move across the Pacific toward Hawaiʻi.

Current forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate that Lowell is expected to pass south of the state. While direct impacts are not expected at this time, there remains potential for strong winds later this week. Meanwhile, Karina follows behind, though the hurricane remains too far away to determine its future track or intensity.

We will continue to monitor both systems and remain in close contact with weather and emergency management officials. Campuses, preschools, and office sites will communicate any operational updates directly with their communities as needed.
