Forty-five Kamehameha Schools Human Resources staffers took rakes and weeders in hand for a service-learning project to beautify Mauna ‘Ala – the Royal Mausoleum. The Nuʻuanu site is the final resting place of Kamehameha Schools founder Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop.

Working with KS Hoʻokahua Cultural Vibrancy Group staffers Keʻala Kwan, Makaʻala Rawlins and Nanea Armstrong the HR team started its day in the mausoleum’s chapel, learning about the history of Mauna ‘Ala. They got to work right away – weeding, raking, and helping to clear areas throughout the grounds.

The project helped connect them with Ke Aliʻi Pauahi, who was a dedicated servant leader.

The Human Resources Division – led by Managing Director Winona White – is committed to partnering with its clients to recruit, develop and retain the right people to staff the many different departments and functions of the organization.
