How to watch Founder’s Day 2022

Dec. 14, 2022

Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi is excited to be returning to an all-kula celebration of the birth of our founder, Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop, this year. We look forward to returning to this tradition of joining together as one kauhale to mahalo our founder and celebrate the important and distinguished legacy she left. A legacy that touches us all and thousands of pua a Pauahi across our honua.

This year's event takes place on:
Monday, December 19, 2022
9 a.m. - 10 a.m.

In addition to returning to a full K-12 celebration, we are also welcoming back our senior class guests to experience their final Founder's Day. We have also invited our ten and first year celebrating alumni classes of 2012 and 2022, as well as the two classes who have been unable to participate as alumni due to the pandemic, the classes of 2020 and 2021. As such, we have accounted for a full capacity gym per our fire code capacity, and in-person attendance is limited to these invited guests who have a ticket for admission.

However, we will continue to livestream the ceremony for our ʻohana, alumni, and community to enjoy. Watch the stream on the Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel on December 19 at 9 a.m. We hope that you enjoy watching and singing along to the mele of this special tradition. A link to the program for the event will be available in the description or will also be available on the Founder's Day page on our website.

For Kamehameha Schools alumni, there is an Alumni Founder's Day Ceremony held in the evening at 6 p.m. in the William Charles Lunalilo Center. Visit https://www.ksaaeasthawaii.org/ for more information.

Visit ksbe.edu/foundersday for more information.

Alumni interested in attending a Founder's Day celebration are invited to a special ceremony that evening at Lunalilo Hale hosted by the alumni association.
