Kula Kauwela will once again offer a free cybersecurity course for Kamehameha Hawaiʻi middle and high school students in grades 6-12. It is a week-long half day (4 hours/day) class designed for those with an interest in learning more about cybersecurity.
What is the AFA CyberCamp?
The AFA CyberCamp program is designed to excite students new to cybersecurity about STEM career opportunities and teach them important cyber defense skills through hands-on instruction and activities. Through the camp, students will learn how to protect their personal devices and information from outside threats, as well as how to harden entire networks running Windows 10 and Ubuntu operating systems. The AFA CyberCamp will culminate in an exciting final team competition that simulates real cybersecurity situations faced by industry professionals and mimics AFA’s CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition.
Who can attend?
Kamehameha Hawaiʻi Middle and High School Students (Grades 6-12). To sign-up, complete the camp interest form by Monday, July 10, 2023.
When + Where will it be?
Both sessions will take place at the Charles Reed Bishop Learning Center on our Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Campus.
How much does it cost?
CyberCamp is FREE. But spaces are limited and will be filled first-come, first-serve, so don't delay in signing up. All students receive camp instruction materials and cybercamp t-shirt.
AFA CyberCamps are part of the CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Education Program. For more information on the visit: www.uscyberpatriot.org
