Starting July 31, Kamehameha Hawaiʻi will be going live with an enhancement to our visitor protocol which will add an important layer of screening for visitors who access our kula. The Raptor Technologies VisitorSafe system is a secure, school-based visitor management platform designed to ensure we know who is on campus during the school day.
Safety is a priority and sacred kuleana at Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha, and the Raptor system enables us to quickly identify individuals who may pose a risk to our students. It enhances our ability to screen and monitor visitors, contractors, and volunteers, while still maintaining our aloha for everyone who visits our campus. It builds upon our existing protocols and enhances our badging and identification process for visitors.
WHO NEEDS TO USE THIS SYSTEM?
Anyone who is not a student or employee of Kamehameha Schools is considered a visitor and needs to check-in to this system if visiting campus during school hours. This includes ʻohana members, invited guests, volunteers, and vendors. It is important for our campus safety that everyone has a clearly identifiable badge that says they are in the right place.
Quick drop-offs/pick-ups or brief office visits, shopping at the PTO School Store, public athletic events, or events after office hours/on weekends will not require a visitor badge at this time. Different check-in procedures may be used for those instances.
THE VISITOR CHECK-IN PROCESS
All visitors are required to check-in at the front office of the division they are visiting and either use a valid, government issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, or passport). The difference in the process is you will now use a designated visitor kiosk to check-in.
If you plan frequent visits to campus, there is a free Raptor Safe app available which allows you to pre-scan your ID, and utilize a QR code passport to check-in/check-out at the visitor kiosk. Raptor has a website resource page with links to download the app. Using the app streamlines the check-in process to a single scan and uses the photo from your ID.
If a visitor is under 18 and does not have a government issued ID, they would just need to register directly with the front office staff.
ADDITIONAL SCREENING TO PROTECT OUR CAMPUS
The VisitorSafe system enhances campus security by checking each visitor’s name and date of birth against:
