The first of three system tests this school year will happen on 9/14 at 3:30 p.m.

Emergency notification system test scheduled for 9/14 at 3:30 p.m.

Sept. 7, 2023

Safety is a core value at Kamehameha Schools and one we consider our highest priority. Periodically, we will test to make sure our systems are operating as they should and that information is up to date. Next week, our Kamehameha Schools system will be running a test on our dedicated emergency alert system, Rave Alert. By having a dedicated system designed for emergency use, we avoid any outage or maintenance periods, and can communicate whenever it is necessary to do so.

Kamehameha Schools plans to test all three methods of emergency communications. The system-wide emergency notification test is scheduled for next Thursday, September 14, 2023, starting at approximately 3:30 p.m. This test will send email, voice, and text alerts to ʻohana contacts identified in Infinite Campus or employee contact information in Workday. If your information is up-to-date you should receive:

  • Email alerts: Sender is Kamehameha Schools Alert (ksbe@getrave.com)
  • Voice alerts: From phone number (808) 842-8375 (Caller ID: Kamehameha Schools)
  • The text alert will come from one of these numbers: 226787, 67283, 78015, 77295, or 81437. The message will read, “Kamehameha Schools: THIS IS ONLY A TEST. This is a test of the Kamehameha Schools emergency notification system. You are not required to respond. Mahalo!”

To prepare for the test, we do ask if you can please login and verify that your contact information is correct in Infinite Campus or for employees in Workday and update if necessary.

  • Verify that the phone numbers provided are 10-digits (ex. 8085555555).
  • Verify, if provided, that your work phone/land line is functional (not disconnected) and voicemail is set up.
  • If you are using call-forwarding settings, ensure your call forward target phone number includes the 808 area code.
  • If needed, update information by Tuesday, September 12 in order to make sure these alerts are received.

Mahalo in advance for your cooperation and understanding of this testing. Testing of this system may take place at three different periods throughout the year - Fall, Spring, and Summer.

As this is only a test, you are not required to respond to the messages. If you do not receive the alerts, ʻohana should contact the KS Resource Center at ksrc@ksbe.edu or by phone at (808) 534-8080. For KS employees, if you do not receive the alert, and your information in Workday is up-to-date, contact Safety and Risk Senior Manager, Neil Yamamoto, at neyamamo@ksbe.edu.

Mahalo!
