Discover Preschool Day is an opportunity for families to learn about preschool programs and connect with early education resource providers that serve the Wai‘anae Coast.

This year, the event takes place on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Community Learning Center at Mā‘ili (CLC-M) Early Learning Kauhale. This is the third consecutive year for the preschool readiness event.

The free event is intended for families with keiki ages 0-4, looking for more information about registering their keiki for preschool and finding the resources available to help make preschool affordable and accessible.

At Discover Preschool Day, families will receive one-on-one support with filling out applications and will be able to sign-up on the spot for preschool seats at CLCM’s preschool complex. Workshops on financial aid options will be provided throughout the morning.

Keiki can also participate in make-and-take activities which support educational development, win free books and other giveaways and enjoy free, healthy snacks throughout the day.

Visit the Community Learning Center at Mā‘ili Facebook page, call 670-2045 or email kapua@ksbe.edu for more information on Discover Preschool Day.

The CLC-M early learning complex opened on August 4, 2014 with a 12-classroom preschool complex and four-classroom infant and toddler center providing traditional and parent participation programs and services for hundreds of families.

An early learning kauhale was added in January 2015, providing a one-stop-shop for Wai‘anae Coast families to access a variety of early learning resources including early learning screening and assessments, family workshops and developmental programs.

Eleven early learning organizations operate the early learning complex. CLC-M was developed by Kamehameha Schools through its Ka Pua Initiative and in partnership with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. Visit the Mā‘ili Community Learning Center web page for additional information.

Discover Preschool Day is a great opportunity for families to learn more about all of the resources available to them on the Wai‘anae Coast.

Providers, including KS preschools, will host a number of different activity stations for keiki.
