Darren Pai named KS director of Strategic Communications

Darren Pai has been named director of Strategic Communications for Kamehameha Schools.

Pai, who began his role late last month, is responsible for driving strategic communications efforts that promote, protect and enhance the KS brand with key stakeholders critical to Kamehameha’s continued success in partnership with leadership from across the organization.

“Darren is a proven leader with deep experience as a journalist and in organizational communications,” said KS Vice President of Communications Kevin Cockett. “His knowledge and understanding of communities throughout Hawaiʻi will enable him to make great contributions to our work.”

“I feel extremely fortunate to join an organization that is part of the fabric of this community and does so much for Hawaiʻi,” Pai said.  “I’m excited to join such a talented team of communicators who are committed to helping Kamehameha Schools achieve our vision of a thriving lāhui.”  

Prior to joining KS, Pai served as director of Corporate Communications for real estate company Alexander & Baldwin. From 2007 through 2017, he held senior communications positions at Hawaiian Electric Company.

Before entering corporate communications, Pai worked as a news reporter for over a decade at media outlets including KHNL-TV, The Honolulu Advertiser, USA Today and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
