Kamehameha Schools was founded by the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great.
Thirty high school students are making their way across Washington and Oregon, exploring colleges in that area.
Using their Fall Break to better inform their futures.
We have 50 haumāna (30 in the Pacific Northwest and 20 on the East Coast) on college tours this week, visiting universities and getting a better sense of the communities they are in to see if that’s the best fit for them.
Finding the right fit is so important for college persistence, and KS has a goal that at least 70% of each graduating class will also graduate from college. So giving these exposure opportunities for haumāna is that much more critical.
Wishing them all safe travels!
Twenty student are taking a closer look at institutions across the East Coast, including Ivy League and top-tier universities.
