Kamehameha Schools may not exist today without Charles Reed Bishop and for that, during our Maui Campus 20 year anniversary, we should all be thankful for him.  Both a loving husband to our beloved Princess Bernice Pauahi and a skilled businessman; Charles Reed Bishop used his knowledge and skills to help bring to fruition the dream that was Kamehameha Schools.  On this day we take a moment to remember the strong and savvy man that Charles Reed Bishop was and hope that we, the students and faculty of Kamehameha Schools, continue to make him and Princess Pauahi proud in all that we do.

First and foremost, Charles Reed Bishop was a stalwart husband and had this to say about his wife and why it was so important for him to carry on her legacy:

"I know you all loved her, for nobody could know her at all well and not love her."

May we all aspire to the incredible standard both Princess Pauahi and Charles Reed Bishop have laid for us.
