Watch the Beginning of the Year Convocation 2024

Aug. 19, 2024

The first all-school gathering of the year took place on August 16 as we joined together in praise and worship of Ke Akua for our Beginning of the Year Convocation.

This special tradition is our time to introduce and learn more about the Kamehameha Schools spiritual theme of the year. This year nā kula will focus on the foundational commitment of Aloha Kekahi i Kekahi, love for one another and the theme honors that statement.

The 2024-2025 spiritual theme is "E ho’okala like kākou i ka ihe a puka lanakila! Let us sharpen our spears together to emerge victoriously."

The theme is taken from Na Solomona/Proverbs 27:17 -
“Hoʻokala kahi mea hao i kekahi mea hao, Hoʻokala hoʻi ke kanaka i ka maka o kona hoalauna. As Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
