ALU LIKE to launch Native Hawaiian summer school assistance program

ALU LIKE, Inc. – a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Hawaiians achieve social and economic self-sufficiency –  will launch a Native Hawaiian Summer School Assistance Program with a grant from Kamehameha Schools. Applications will be accepted starting on March 30, 2015.

This competitive program will provide tuition scholarships to qualified students who attend Hawai'i public or private summer schools excluding Kamehameha Schools, which has its own summer school financial aid program.

Students must be entering grades 1 through 12 during the 2015-2016 school year.

Program details:

  • Applicants must show proof of financial eligibility
  • Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Preference is given to students of Hawaiian ancestry
  • Only completed applications with all required supporting documents will be considered for funding
  • Documentation of summer school student's attendance and grades will be required
  • Deadline to apply: May 15, 2015
