Early sunsets and a slight chill in the air signify that the holiday season is here, along with Kaka‘ako's über-popular “A Pinch of Salt for the Holidays.” The annual shopping event returns to SALT on Saturday, December 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 333 Keawe St. in Our Kaka‘ako
Saturday’s event will feature unique pop-up shops featuring trendy, local retailers not found at other shopping venues. Retailers include Andy South from Lifetime Network’s Project Runway, and A. Wattz Dezigns – whose handcrafter jewelry focus on subtly edgy new trends and classic everyday pieces.
“A Pinch of Salt for the Holidays is an opportunity for attendees to preview SALT,” says Kamehameha Schools’ former Development Marketing Manager Erin Kinney. “It will be the first event at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako that is open to the general public reflecting the hip fashionable style and taste of Our Kaka‘ako.”
Retailers will also include The Cut Collective, Bikini Bird, Salt Liko + Matt Bruening, Kira Hawaii, Nak on Wood, Jiwa Jiwa Press and Gilla. Area eateries will be open to feed hungry shoppers including Brue Bar, Cocina, Starbucks, Hank’s Haute Dogs, Highway Inn, Insomnia, Lanikai Juice and Bevy.
Opening in 2016, SALT at Our Kaka‘ako will be Honolulu’s urban epicenter for local culture, food, shopping and innovative events. The dynamic city block is designed to be a place for exploration and engagement for the growing Kaka‘ako community.
