Established in 2023 across the three campuses of Kamehameha Schools, the Poʻo Kula Scholarship was created to recognize high achieving haumāna who embodies E Ola!, good character, and the willingness to work to strengthen our lāhui. The scholarship intends to provide them with additional resources to close any gap within their total aid package so that they can pursue their first choice of educational institution for their college journey.

The scholarship award amount is determined based on financial need and the financial aid package from their chosen college, but could be as high as $25,000 per year for up to four years.

Our goal is for every haumāna to leave as an ʻŌiwi Edge graduate with a strong ancestral foundation that shapes their agency, adaptability, and well-being, giving them a competitive advantage to fulfill their unique purpose and kuleana. Kamehameha Schools believes that post-secondary education and training will lead to the development of ʻōiwi leaders and our vision of a thriving lāhui.

Students selected for the scholarship distinguish themselves through their diligence and ability to articulate their goals and ambitions for how they will serve our lāhui as an ʻōiwi leader. The scholarship recognizes their history as a student, and acknowledges their hard work in the process. They represent the hope that Kamehameha Schools has in creating this scholarship.

Hoʻomaikaʻi! I Mua Kamehameha!
