Kamehameha Schools founder Ke Ali‘i Bernice Pauahi Bishop cared deeply for her people, her lands, and her culture. It is her lasting legacy that we will celebrate on her birthday, December 19. This year marks the 191st anniversary of the birth of Princess Pauahi, with Founder’s Day ceremonies taking place across the pae ʻāina. Let us celebrate her life and recognize the profound impact she has had on generations of Native Hawaiians.
