Kamehameha Schools was founded by the will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha the Great.
Reverend William Brewster Oleson pens the school song, “Sons of Hawai‘i” together with Theodore Richards who adapts the tune from Yale’s “Wake, Freshman, Wake” and chooses the school colors based on Yale school colors.
