Po`o Kumu, Grades 9-12
I am a life-long learner. I received my BA in sociology. I then had a strong desire to teach and received my PD (Professional Diploma) for teaching.
After about 10 years in the classroom, I parlayed my teaching experience and decided to further my education and attained a Master’s degree in Education.
I came to Kamehameha Schools Maui in 1999. It was a tremendous privilege to be hired during the inaugural year of the Maui campus.
As a young teacher, I began my career here as a middle school teacher; working with 6 and 7th graders.
I also had the pleasure to serve as the first high school basketball coach.
In 2008, I was hired as the high school Hope Po`o Kumu. Subsequently, in 2010, I became the Foundations (9-10) Po`o Kumu.
I am grateful and humbled by the opportunities this great institution has afforded me, moreover, the opportunities granted by the vision of Ke Alii Pauahi.
As Po`o Kumu,
I look forward to new experiences and opportunities to serve Kamehameha Schools.
