Kumu Makemakika, Papa 8 (Math Kumu, Grade 8)
Born on Oahu and raised on Maui, I graduated from Baldwin High School in 1993.
I then attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned my Bachelors of Education degree with an emphasis in General Science in 1998.
Upon graduating, I moved back to Maui and was fortunate to land a Chemistry position at my alma mater.
I spent five great years teaching general chemistry alongside my former teachers.
During that time, I also served as class advisor, and Assistant Varsity Swim coach.
In 2002, I received my Masters of Arts degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix Maui Campus.
In 2003, Kamehameha Schools Maui offered me a position to teach Science and Math on their newly built Middle School campus.
I quickly jumped at the chance, and have adjusted nicely to life amongst “Middle Schoolers!“In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, spearfishing, and hacking around the golf course every once in a while. I am truly blessed to be a part of Pauahi’s Vision and look forward to many more years to come!
