I am currently in my thirteenth year of teaching at Kamehameha Schools Maui.
I have been teaching since 1991, starting in graduate school with Physics Labs at Western Illinois University.
In late 1992 I also started teaching a Self-Contained Special-Ed class at Dallas City High School in Dallas City Illinois.
After finishing my graduate time at the university, I returned to get my teaching certificate for Illinois and Iowa, while still teaching Special Ed.
In 1995 I student taught at Burlington H.
S. in Burlington Iowa.
I has received a long term substitution position from the same high school in the spring of 1996.
I then started as an 8th grade Earth Science teacher at Oak Street Middle School in Burlington Iowa.
I stayed there for two years until the Physic position opened up at the high school.
At the high school I taught Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics, Adventures in Supercomputing and Physical Science.
I remained there until the fall of 2003, when I came Kamehameha.
Originally born and raised on the south side of Chicago, I come from a family of five.
Mother, father, sister, brother and me.
I have an extensive extended family since my father had twelve siblings and my mother three.
All in all, I have 44 direct cousins.
We are a very close knit family since we all grew up within a city block of each other.
My heritage is of Mexican/Native American (father) and Polish/Lithuanian (mother).
