Kumu Kassandra Jackson is a graduate of George Mason University where she received her BS and MS in Biology. In between her years of teaching she spent several years in research studying and working with infectious diseases and vaccine development at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. She originally is from Northern Virginia, where she grew up and lived until moving to Hawaii. She lives with her husband and dog in Mānoa. She enjoys cooking and baking, knitting, and playing with her happy little dog.
