Tropical Depression Two-C update #1

Aug. 20, 2026

Aloha mai kākou,

Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha is closely monitoring Tropical Depression Two-C as it approaches Hawai‘i.

The National Weather Service forecasts that the system could begin affecting Hawai‘i Island late Saturday night and pass south of the rest of the pae ‘āina Sunday into Monday.

We will continue to monitor conditions and remain in close contact with weather and emergency management officials. Campuses, preschools, and office sites will communicate any operational updates directly with their communities as needed.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue supporting those impacted by Hurricane Lala, review your emergency plans, replenish supplies, and stay informed through official sources. More information and preparedness resources are available through Ready.gov, the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency, and county emergency management agencies statewide.
