Our Kula Waena Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa visited our elementary students to talk about our native Hawaiian hoary bat or ʻōpeʻapeʻa. Members gave a short presentation about the bat and then took the haumāna outside for a scavenger hunt. The haumāna were placed into small groups looking for invisible bat logos hidden around campus. Students used the clues to find possible locations of the logos and then poured water on spots to reveal the hidden bat logo.
Both the MS and the ES haumāna enjoyed a morning exploring and learning together.
