Seeds, Secret Signals and States of Matter!

Kindergarten has been learning about plants: their needs, life cycle, and the parts of the plant. They have planted radishes, beans and pumpkins. How did native plants arrive in Hawaiʻi? They are learning how seeds spread: wind, waves or wings.

First grade, just completed learning about sound and now they are exploring light. We explored making secret codes and sending them with light. They also explored various stations: bending light, reflecting light, creating rainbows and exploring shadows.

Second grade has been taking a closer look at three states of matter. They tested the strength of three solids by building three bridges and seeing which one held the most pennies. Now, they are seeing what happens when you trap a gas. Why do some things explode?
