KS Maui fourth grade haumāna have been on a vigorous campaign this year to help spread awareness about rapid ʻōhiʻa death (ROD).

Itʻs been an interdisciplinary learning experience for the haumāna, addressed through a series of projects including creating T-shirts, educational displays and advocacy efforts.

With music kumu Clark Tuitele, students wrote and now perform an original song about the ʻōhiʻa lehua, as they continue their efforts to try and kōkua this critical disease facing the beloved plant, especially as ROD spreads to Kauaʻi.
