ʻAuhea ʻoukou e nā pua lei a Pauahi ē,
Pane mai Hawaiʻi Moku o Keawe. The call to stand together has been made, and our response—rooted in aloha ʻāina and faith—remains steadfast.
As shared by our CEO and Trustees, yesterday’s filing challenges not only an admissions policy, but the very promise Ke Aliʻi Pauahi made to her people. Here on Moku o Keawe, we affirm that promise through how we live and learn every day—empowered in our ʻŌiwi identity, guided by our values, and committed to the thriving of our lāhui.
Today, as our brothers and sisters, fellow kumu and haumāna, gather on the grounds of Hale Aliʻi ʻo ʻIolani, we from this mokupuni—the source of Kamehameha’s lineage and origin of his kingdom—will lend our spirits in support and pour our aloha for our lāhui into every opportunity given to learn and deepen our understanding of our unique purpose. From this, as from all challenges, we will emerge stronger as a kauhale, more grounded in who we are, and more resolute in defending the ea of our lāhui today.
As we may seek to add our voices to the many already in support of Nā Kula ʻo Kamehameha at home and around the world, let us continue to stand in kapu aloha. Our strength as a campus lives in how we care for one another and rise together.
