KS Maui earns HMSA Kaimana Award

Kamehameha Schools Maui was recently received the HMSA Kaimana Award for Maui Interscholastic League large schools, earning the campus a $1,500 prize.

The awards program recognize Hawai‘i high schools for all-around excellence in five categories:  academics, athletics, community service, healthy activities and sportsmanship.

KSM High School Vice Principal Leo Delatori accepted the award on behalf of his campus at a luncheon at the Hawaii Convention Center on June 13.

“The Kaimana Award is a great recognition for Kamehameha Schools Maui as it acknowledges the hard work done by our student-athletes, coaches, athletic staff and teachers in perpetuating the values we hold dear at Kamehameha,” said Delatori. “It was an honor for me to accept the award on behalf of the entire Maui ʻohana.”

This is KS Maui’s third Kaimana Award since the inception of the awards program 10 years ago. The campus also garnered awards in 2008 and 2011.
