Ke Kula Waena  'Aha Mele Kalikimaka on Saturday

This Saturday, December 15, our Kula Waena haumāna will present their annual celebration of the holidays. 

The Middle School Christmas Concert, “Ke Kula Waena ‘Aha Mele Kalikimaka”, is a collaborative production featuring our Hawaiian Ensemble, Musical Theatre, Innovative Technology, Art and Band classes.

Kula Waena has been hard at work, putting together an exceptional show that feature performances of a number of celebrated mele that will put you in the holiday spirit. 

  • The Twelve Songs of Christmas 
  • Kana Kaloka
  • Here Comes Santa in a Red Canoe
  • Dear St. Nick
  • All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth (with a special media presentation)
  • Christmas Lūʻau
  • It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas
  • Christmas Island
  • Me and My Teddy Bear
  • ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
  • and culminates with a fantastic performance of Mele Kalikimaka

All of the performance are tied together throughout a performance by our musical theatre haumāna. 

Live performance begins at 4:00 p.m. at Laʻamea Gym, doors will open at 3:45 p.m.

Before the show, ʻohana are encouraged to visit the K-12 Art Showcase in Kamākaʻimoku (Building 1) on our Kula Waena campus. The gallery will hold a grand opening at 2 p.m. on Saturday and be open to wander through before the show.
