Kamehameha Maui Middle places 2nd in National Video Contest

The students of Kamehameha Middle Schoolʻs Ka ʻIkena Productions media team was awarded a 2nd place national finish in the Student Television Networkʻs (STN) Middle School News Feature Challenge.  This contest required the student team to prodcue a 3-minute news feature using the prompt, “Look for the Helpers.”  The team consisted of 8th grade students Aimi Sakamoto, Amaya Genovia, Jayden Pahukula, and Mackenzie Ventura.  Their story, “Lending a Helping Paw” was about a woman who trains therapy dogs to provide comfort for Hospice patients.  The team, along with two 7th grade students, will compete in Nashville this upcoming March at the STN Conference.  Kamehameha Maui also had a 2nd place national finish in the Crazy 8ʻs News Feature contest at the STN Conference held in Anaheim.
