Hōʻike 2024: KŪ I KA MANA

March 4, 2024

Hōʻike 2024 is a reprise of the 2018 production of "KŪ I KA MANA", a Hawaiian language rock opera that dramatizes, in music and dance, the political intrigue behind and the events leading up to the election of 1874 after the death of King William Charles Lunalilo left the Kingdom of Hawai‘i without an appointed successor to the throne. In the running are the charismatic David Kalākaua and beloved by the people, Queen Emma Rooke.

This year’s show will feature a new style, and new elements to the production including a class competition of different numbers within the show. We’re excited to see how our haumāna will elevate this production the second time around.

Tickets are sold out. Mahalo! Hōʻike 2024 takes place March 14 and 15 at 6 p.m. in Koaiʻa Gym. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
