Graduation Weekend for the Class of 2023

May. 23, 2023

This is a special and joyous weekend for our kula as we prepare to graduate ka papa ʻo Hiʻiakaikawaiola, our 18th graduating class of Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi. There are a number of activities for these graduates leading up to and directly following this milestone moment, but for those who are unable to be here in person, we will provide opportunities to see these graduates in their special moment.

BACCALAUREATE

Our baccalaureate service is an intimate gathering of ʻohana, school leaders, and our graduates. It is an opportunity to pray over and celebrate the members of Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i’s Class of 2023, Hi‘iakaikawaiola on the eve of their graduation. Tickets are required to attend in-person, but the service will be live streamed on the Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel for those unable to attend. Watch on Friday, May 26 at 5 p.m.

COMMENCEMENT

Commencement will take place in Koaiʻa Gymnasium at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Tickets are required to attend in person and enter campus prior to 5 p.m. Those without tickets can enter campus to give lei or greet graduates after 5 p.m.

Watch the graduation ceremony for the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Class of 2023 live on the Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel. Our apologies as there were some audio issues and a failure with the streaming device mid-ceremony which resulted in a loss of a section between Poʻo Kula's manaʻo and the reading of the names of our graduates. By the time the stream was able to be reestablished, seven of our students had already gotten their diplomas. The failure in the device caused the recording to be corrupted as well, so this is pieced together from the two parts of the stream and photos have been inserted in place where the seven students were. Our sincerest apologies to: Kenui Pakela Kalaola-Maruquin, Leeroy Koi, Zackary Kekamaokalani Inocencio Lapenia, Kamauokealoha Liniaire Beaudet, Noah Banyan Pila, Ka‘ōlapa‘olilikoikalā Hideo Louis Masuko, Michael Damien Camacho Perry, and Kekoa Tanumafili Ah Loy.

COLLEGE DECISION DAY

We are so proud of this class. Earlier this month, our soon-to-be graduates made their decisions of where they are headed to next on their journey, and one of their counselors put together a video to share and celebrate our seniors. You can watch the video on our Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel, or using the player below.
