COVID-19 POP-UP TESTING
Thursday, January 7, 2021 | 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
at the Middle School bus ramp
These testing sessions are being conducted by Project Vision Hawaiʻi and consist of a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT), also known as the PCR test. This time, the test is saliva based. Those being tested should refrain from eating, drinking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes prior to your test. Depending on how quickly you can generate saliva, tests may take from 5 to 20 minutes. You are encouraged to hydrate the day before by consuming a minimum of 64 oz. of water, so your body can generate the appropriate amount of saliva.
Because this is an afternoon/evening testing event, please allow for up to 48 hours to receive your results. Instructions on how to access test results are emailed to you by Diagnostic Labs (DLS) or S&G Labs, typically within a day after the test, without any unforeseen delays.
Testing is available to:
Advance registration is requested by Wednesday, January 6 at 12 p.m. to allow time for you to receive your confirmation email prior to testing.
The January 7th testing will take place at the middle school bus ramp. We will be utilizing the covered walkway for our screeners and covered underpass for the check-in. You will check-in and receive your labels which screeners will place on your saliva collection tubes. Pre-registering assists tremendously in this process. Print and show your confirmation with your name and birth date for a quicker check-in.
Security staff will be on-hand to assist with the new traffic pattern. After making your way to the check-in, you will park diagonally in front of a screener, facing Keaʻaumoku Nui. You will remain in your vehicle at all times. Once you're done filling the saliva tube, your screener will collect it and you're set.
If there are any questions about these tests, please email kshawaii@ksbe.edu. Mahalo!
