Three Kamehameha Schools students took home state championship gold at this past weekend’s Hawaiʻi High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) Track and Field Championships.

KS Hawaiʻi sophomore standout Chenoa Frederick continued her domination, winning titles in three different events—the triple jump, long jump and 100 meter sprint—leading her team to a third place finish in the girls team competition. Her gold medal in the triple jump also set a new state record, breaking the mark she set last year, and giving her back-to-back titles in the event.

KS Maui senior Micah Au-Haupu won the school its first track and field gold medal on Friday night, outdistancing the competition in the shot put, winning gold with a throw of 51ʻ3.25”.

Then KS Maui junior Keely Logan added the school’s first girl’s gold medal, winning the high jump competition with a leap of 5’1”.

KS Kapālama served as the host for the 2018 HHSAA Track and Field Championships.
