Kumu are the lifeblood of our educational system. Amidst a worldwide pandemic, these unsung heroes have shown tremendous strength, resilience and creativity as they deliver distance learning lessons to our haumāna, both at our schools and in the community.

Even with kuleana of their own to take care of, Kamehameha Schools teachers have continued to embody our philosophy, “Hānai i ke keiki, ola ka lāhui – Nurture the child and the lāhui will thrive.”

Teachers make the world a better place by cultivating educators, ecologists, engineers and countless other professionals. They inspire haumāna to reach their highest potential, and for this we say a collective “mahalo!”
