Severe weather alert: Storm update #2

April 8, 2026

Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha continues to monitor the storm system affecting Hawaiʻi.

All Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha campuses, preschool sites, and offices statewide are scheduled to remain open tomorrow, Thursday, April 9, 2026. We will continue to track conditions and follow the guidance of government and emergency officials. Should weather conditions change, campuses, preschools, and office sites will communicate any operational updates directly with their communities.

The National Weather Service continues to forecast the potential for heavy rains, strong winds, and isolated thunderstorms as the system moves across the islands.

We will share another update tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to remain attentive to weather conditions, take steps to prepare your ʻohana, and stay connected with your neighbors and community.
