Hoʻomaikaʻi to class of 2022 senior Jordanna Tataki who won the high school category in the 1st annual Hawaiʻi Island Chef Challenge!

The competition was created to encourage more keiki to incorporate healthier and locally grown or locally sourced products into their meals. Her mentor in the competition was chef Darcy Ambrosio of A-Bay’s Island Grill in Kona and Waikoloa.

The competition aired this past week on KHON2 and is available online now. You can watch and see how their classic Prince Orloff dish, incorporating local pork and healthy root vegetables, came together.

Great job Jordanna!

Mahalo to mom Kori Tataki for sharing this great news and pics!

Tataki celebrates her winning dish created with chef mentor Darcy Ambrosio and judges Mayor Mitch Roth and chef Sam Choy.

The winning dish was a spin on the classic Prince Orloff dish using local pork and root vegetables from Hawaiʻi.

Tataki's mentor in the competition was chef Darcy Ambrosio, the executive chef of A-Bay's Island Grill in Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa.
