New issue of I Mua magazine spotlights connection between ea, ʻāina and kanaka

Sept. 23, 2025

The newest issue of I Mua magazine has just posted online. This edition focuses on the inextricable connection between ea, ʻāina and kanaka.

The moʻolelo within take readers to Kahoʻolawe, to a restored heiau on Oʻahu’s North Shore, and to loko iʻa on both Hawaiʻi Island and Oʻahu, where haumāna are giving native fish a fighting chance at survival against an onslaught of invasive species.

Kamaliʻi and kūpuna are featured too, in moʻolelo about a yearlong kalo project at a KS preschool and at Alumni Reunion, where living treasures from the classes of 1945 and 1946 were celebrated.
