A new wave of educational resources centered on the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage is coming on Monday, Oct. 20.
The waʻa-focused resources are part of Kamehameha Schools’ commitment to create and distribute learning materials to share the lessons, experiences and inspirations gained throughout the journey.
The resources were developed especially for KS educators by Kamehameha’s Ho‘okahua Hawaiian Cultural Vibrancy Group and are being housed on the KS Mālama Honua Voyage Intranet site.
Included in Monday’s offerings will be:
Supporting the Worldwide Voyage
Kamehameha Schools has pledged $2 million in support of the Mālama Honua Voyage, the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s four-year Worldwide Voyage of Hōkūle‘a and its sister canoe Hikianalia.
KS joins several educational partners including the University of Hawai‘i, the State Department of Education and Bishop Museum to develop educational resources related to the journey.
The waʻa-focused resources are part of KS’ commitment to create and distribute a broad spectrum of learning materials to share the lessons, experiences and inspirations gained throughout the worldwide journey.
The new wave of educational resources will be available on the KS Mālama Honua Voyage Intranet site.
