E nānā aku ana hoʻi iā Iesū, i ka mea nāna i hoʻokumu, nāna hoʻi e hoʻohemolele ko kākou manaʻoʻiʻo; nāna hoʻi i hoʻomanawanui i ke keʻa me ka manaʻo ʻole i ka hilahila, no ka ʻoliʻoli i hoʻomaopopo ʻia ma mua ona, a noho iho hoʻi ma ka lima ʻākau o ka noho aliʻi o ke Akua.
- Hebera 12:2

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Hebrews 12:2

He manaʻo o ka haumāna

It’s the end of senior year, and high school is coming to a close. We were told that time will fly by fast, and there are going to be hard times, but I could never agree till now. It’s a journey, and my connection with God so far has been a journey as well.

As we are cultivating our own identity in our lives, we are also cultivating our identity with the Lord. There are ups and downs, and we are sometimes going to lose sight of the goal. But I am saying that we must reflect and reevaluate where our energy is put towards.

This scripture from Hebrews advises us to remember what Jesus has done for us, and the happiness that follows our belief in Christ. There are times we are going to stray from the end goal. I know I have a few times in my own life as a follower of Christ, but I always knew I’d have to find a way back. This is the same case for school. There are going to be times where priorities are confused, but our studies always show themselves to be important. I need everyone to understand their purpose. I need them to know the importance of it. And I need them to know they are not alone, because even Jesus himself had doubts on his journey, but he still got through. He still rejoiced with the Lord in Heaven.

Don’t forget the light at the end of the tunnel because there is one.
