Large contingent of KSK haumāna take part in ʻOnipaʻa Peace March

Over 1000 KS Kapālama haumāna and kumu proudly chanted and waved hae Hawaiʻi as they marched through the streets of Honolulu for the annual ʻOnipaʻa Peace March. The 1.7-mile journey started at Mauna ʻAla and ended at ʻIolani Palace. KSK haumāna and kumu from the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades joined members of other Native Hawaiian organizations in the procession which commemorated 130 years since the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

Haumāna chanted phrases like: “Kū I ka pono”, “kūʻē I ka hewa”, and “kū haʻaheo” as they made their journey down Nuʻuanu Avenue and Beretania Street.
